College of Notre Dame of Maryland campus is quiet, but within its walls there's a creative student body and faculty. One very creative and interesting character within the school walls is Dr. Joseph Schaub. He is an associate professor of communication arts who conducts classes on film and media but he is also known for his own creations.
Schaub's short films are experimental documentaries, or as he likes to call them, "creative non-fiction," which is an art technique of taking a true story and then presenting it in a creative way. His favorite method of presenting the story is through animation. He became very interested in this form of art at the early age of 12, when his grandmother introduced him to oil painting and sketching. "I saw the world as art, and wanted to be involved in making something others could see and react to ,"Schaub says.
But the best thing about creating short films according to Schaub is the process of editing together materials that lack connections with each other and use these elements to work harmoniously together. An example of how he creates this film magic can be seen in his short film called Mitzi and Mencken, which is a 14 minute film telling the story of an elderly woman reflecting back on her youth and on her political activism. It centers around when Mitzi was 17- years- old and got arrested for participating at an interracial tennis match.
The telling of the story blends Alche Mencken, a well known reporter of the Baltimore Sun's life with hers on the account her story was his last written work before a stroke prevented him from ever writing again. This film took four years between the summer of 2003 to 2007 to be created.
Other works of Schaub are Tangerine Crows, an animation film, and Waves of Pure Lemon, about a 70- year -old woman who describes her admiration for the author Virginia Wolfe, but becomes crushed at discovering that Wolfe committed suicide since she read her books for inspiration. He says film is a great way to touch people emotionally and in adding a poetic way.
He advises anyone who wants to get into film to decide if they want to do it simply for money or for artistic rewards. Schaub also promotes students to post their art at festivals, YouTube; a Web site for video and audio file sharing, and anywhere else possible because Schaub says short, animated films are generally a new medium that is in need of exploration.
they say life is what you make it.
On a happier note, I think i am going to minor in justice instead of spanish, in addition to my major. Wish me luck! Also, the guy i call my lobster...we're trying to work things out. I know trust and a few things between us need working on but I am willing to work us out. I love him.
So, it's summer and I'm still here. Ready to learn. Ready to get paid 360. And ready to make my dreams realities. I'm not getting any younger so I better start making progress. I'd like to be rich at least once this lifetime. :-P
Oh, and to start on my new outlook on life...i'm cutting my moss-like hair. Watch out Ms. H Berry...there's a new short haired divah in the house.
By the way, I watched Oprah's interview with Elizabeth Edwards and I agree with this remark:
"I blame John, but of course I – women need to have more respect for other women...I have created this life. This is a life I have put together. It takes a lot of work to put together a marriage, to put together a family, and you spend a lot of time trying to do that, and you can't just say, "I like the way that looks,' and knock on the door and say, "I'm in, you're out.'...Don't just come in and take somebody else's life.''
women need to stop wanting what other women have worked hard to create and keep stable. I hate women who cheat with married men because they want that lifestyle. HE WILL NEVER BE WITH YOU THE WAY YOU THINK. IF HE CHEATS ON HIS PRESENT WIFE WHAT DO YOU THINK HE WILL DO WITH YOU?! UMMMM, CHEAT. IT'S NOT ROCKET SCIENCE.
it makes me ashamed to be a woman sometimes. Get your own...why are you riding mines? It's from a lil kim song. I'd knock my cheating husband and his ho's out as while. I hate when men think with their penises. However, they say guys can't help it...right.

My husband discussion...
where the hell did it go? Is it on the basis of how women ALLOW MEN TO TREAT US? Yes, the people whining about not having a decent man...we are to blame.we allow the men to think it's okay to treat us bad, to cheat on us. It is dumb to be like...it's okay he is doing his dirt because I am out doing my dirt. TWO WRONGS DON'T MAKE A RIGHT. AND IF YOU ARE REALLY NOT COMMITTED TO SOMEONE YOU MIGHT AS WELL HAVE THE BALLS OR THE BOOBS TO BE HONEST. It's funny how people label themselves as adults but are truly childlike in every single way other than their anatomy,go figure.
anyways back to my facebook status....SO I PUT MY STATUS AS A JOKE,BUT IT TRIGGER SOME PEOPLE TO REAL FEEL SERIOUS ABOUT IT.
my status is as follows:
um, my daddy says my next project is to find a decent husband or sugar daddy. lol. Help wanted...2 hours ago
people giving the thumbs up on the idea. I mean, I am not very old but i still want something stable, esp during a financial crisis. I mean, arranged marriages are looking very appealing these days. I just don't have the time or energy for dating anymore. I just want someone to learn to work along with me and one day we start a family.
i personally believe love is a word thrown around. So, I think i could learn to love someone if needs be it. I rather share a place with a man I am with and we both are working together to get ahead in life than rooming with 3 females who are more yap than action. This will be my status for the next year.
Sometimes, i even think about getting back with my ex just because at least we knew the good, bad and ugly of one another. I could see myself with him and just suck up the bullshit. But, eh...if we are meant to be I am sure some random shit will get us back together. Something is going to have to give though.
Btw, school is getting on my last nerve and looking for a good job. UGH....i hate how life is all about money. good grief.
when Penn and Teller said BULLSHIT. ha, they meant it. peace.

why is marriage & relationships no longer sacred territory?
I find it odd many of the women my ex was with have their own personal relationship problems. They have been with people's boyfriends and husbands. And everytime they talk about love they condemn it because they have never taken the time to work things out or to communicate real love. They accept that sex is all that they can get. They accept that they don't deserve any better. I am not sure if it is a New York state of mind, but women need to get a wake up call.
People treat you how you allow them to treat you. I learned this all too soon and I am glad for it. I rather speak my mind than let someone walk all over me and be afraid to love again. It's a sad and lonely life to do so. I find it desperate when someone cheats with someone else significant others because they are too selfish to care that they are ruining someone else life.
If you want to be happy and want a man to love you. Go be the best you and you'll find someone worth the time. It's a low self-esteem to want of someone elses' life style or anything. This is why I can not stand women. We are one another enemies and for what?
no good answer.
I find it so amusing some women (and their relatives) have the audacity to harsh me on my youtube and other internet websites over some guy who never cared about you anyway. The laughs on you and the fact you're a mid 20 yr old dealing with picking on a college girl over a guy who forgot about you once he left New york and prob before that....get a grip.
I love my haters because my swag and my whole persona is 10 times greater than yours. So, yes...because I know you read everything I put. Read this.
My life may not be perfect but at least I live a moral life and I am not trying to take from other people. Hope you learn before you're 30.
peace.

To comment on the cheating with other peoples' men:
I guess when I said giving in i meant giving into the games men tend to play. I mean, why give grimy people chance after chance if they don't deserve it? old dogs can't learn new tricks. they are too stuck in their ways by then.
As for desperate...i just never understand the concept of being involved with people already involved with someone else. It's a lack of communication that makes those relationships go sour and the more people being brought into the mix doesn't improve anything for the people that label themselves in a relationship.
what's so attractive about being with a guy who already has other chicks(and maybe children) involved?
Also, another question I wonder is why do people have sex together, and share their bodies together if it is known that love isn't there?
maybe i am old fashion but i can't see myself sleeping with someone i don't care about at all. A guy i was with for about a year and a half was so use to women just sleeping with him and being done with him that he had no idea how to really deal with things that happen in relationships where sex is not just sex,but sex is an expression of love. I use to think sex was just an act until i had an encounter with someone i knew i loved and vice versa. I bring this up because he lived in New York for a bit and I wonder if it is just something learned in the New York state of mind.
I didn't know it would be so different.
But anyways, ****(person's name) you seem very interesting and I am sure a guy worth your time will come your way sooner than later. Don't settle for anything less than what you deserve.
And yes, i doubt the wife needs to hear it from you...it will only cause her more pain. She prob loves the bastard or afraid to leave him. He should man up and just go if he really isn't happy with her. Some people should never get married if they can't be happy with one genitalia . Marriage should be a sacred thing and I hate when people take it for less than that.
A friend once told me...
"usually when you're not looking the cupid arrow hits you. at least that's what happened to me. when you're happy with yourself and you love yourself you allow the universe to come to you."
However, it supposedly happens after sifting through the scum...but you'll know when you find it because you can't see yourself with anyone else. You don't want what's out there anymore.
